    1. Hello Michael,

This song is sung at the end of many traditional gujarati weddings. The ritual is called Vidayi or bidai in Hindi. It is the ritual when the daughter bids farewell to the family she grew up in and goes to her husband's house. It is a bittersweet moment as she is leaving her father's house so everyone is sad, while it is a joyous moment for the new life she is beginning. The song has phrases that reminisce of her childhood and her time at her father's place while blessing her with everlasting happiness and her husband's companionship forever.

      Thank You
      Brinda
